Hi, I’m Chris Freeman, Vice President of Property Management for Kimco. I am responsible for the team that manages Kimco’s 900-plus shopping centers in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. We handle day-to-day operations at our centers -- everything from tenant relations and services, to managing the overall upkeep and appearance of our properties. Working together using common standards and shared best practices, we’re also responsible for long-term strategic planning, expense management, capital improvements, energy and utility management programs, sustainability initiatives and reporting, vendor management, and operational ancillary income programs. I joined Kimco in 2001 as a Property Manager, and was promoted to Regional Property Manager and Director of Property Management and Operations before assuming my current position in 2009. Earlier in my career, I held posts with Advanced Facilities Services International, a third-party property management company, and Benderson Development Company, a privately held real estate company. I live with my wife and two children in North Carolina, and in my spare time I love to ski and mountain bike (I used to manage ski and mountain bike shops in college), and play soccer and tennis. I’m also an avid outdoor photographer.

In October of last year, Kimco announced the Illumi-Nation program, our biggest sustainability program to date and the latest rollout under our Best-in-Class umbrella. Through Illumi-Nation, we had committed $9 million in 2015 to upgrade the lighting in 100 of our Tier 1 properties by year end, and the program will carry us through 2019.… Read More
