Virtual reality coming to retail

Virtual reality isn’t just the newest feature for mobile devices. It’s also starting to make a splash for shoppers. We’ve mentioned the importance of experiential retail in the past, and virtual reality is the next futuristic element that’s allowing shoppers to further immerse themselves.

For example, Home Depot could enable homeowners to tour a prospective remodel. Luxury retailer The Line is already demonstrating how different furniture items appear in an apartment, Lowe’s has created an app where shoppers can design their dream home using Lowe’s products, and over in Sweden, McDonald’s lets kids turn their Happy Meals into VR headsets to celebrate an upcoming holiday.
