Google My Business rolled out for business owners

After introducing Google Business Photos in 2011, Google has expanded its suite of services to help increase business owners’ visibility. Google My Business is the newest free feature to help business owners manage their interactions with customers. The goal of this new service is to allow shoppers and consumers to find shop details at any time, on any device. Consumers can call the shop, get directions to a business, and view hours of operations in one easy visual.

Google My Business was designed to easily help owners add photos of their businesses, respond to reviews, and add their businesses to Google+, no matter their level of Internet and social media savvy. Business owners already using Google’s Places for Business and Google+ will be automatically opted into this new experience. Users will also gain custom insights into analytics, including how many times a site shows up in Google search results.

The process is fairly simple. Business owners just have to fill out their contact and site information, and Google My Business will automatically add all of the information to Google Search, Google Maps, and Google+ in one click. Companies can also add virtual tours, photos, store hours, and correct outdated contact information. Users of Google+ can easily +1 positive reviews, endorse their content, and share news and announcements to their Google+ followers. Google My Business is currently available as an Android app, with an iOS app launching soon.
