Valentine’s Day cupcakes from Nadia Cakes

A lot of holidays involve sugary treats, but Valentine’s Day probably takes the cake. Most people are hitting the bakeries for cakes, cupcakes, chocolates, and other sweets to take home to their sweetheart. So cake shop owner and Kimco tenant Abby Jimenez has good reason to be in love with Valentine’s Day.

The self-taught pastry chef is the founder and owner of Nadia Cakes in Palmdale, Calif. Abby’s cakes and cupcakes have taken her a long way in the retail pastry business. She has appeared on TLC’s “Fabulous Cakes,” and won “Cupcake Wars” on Food Network with her New York cheesecake cupcake. Abby’s planning to open a second location at The Fountains at Arbor Lake, a Kimco shopping center in Maple Grove, Minn.

At the moment though, Abby’s in the full swing of the Valentine’s Day sugar rush. But she managed to take some time to join us on Kimco’s blog to talk about what’s baking this year for Valentine’s Day at Nadia Cakes.
